Lynchburg Retail Merchants Association Hosts 2014 Parade
The annual December Lynchburg Christmas & Holiday Parade in downtown Lynchburg is something anticipated by many each year. Some exciting news for 2014… the Lynchburg Retail Merchants Association serving the Lynchburg area since 1907, will be the host (again) of this event. As many of you know we made our first attempt in 2013 and the event was cancelled due to the first ice storm in years to take out the parade; but the Retail Merchants and the parade committee was determined to use the last few months to make this event bigger and better. We have many of the same participants back in the lineup with some wonderful new additions. Also, we have added the word “holiday” to the parade title to be more inclusive to the community (the parade was named back in 1954) we felt we needed to make the change since we were new to this event.
…I cannot wait to see the sights and sounds of all the hustle and bustle as the families gather to watch the parade just like old times. – Debra Fears Keeling, owner, ACCENTS Flags & Gifts (downtown merchant)
We hope you will plan on joining us in downtown Lynchburg as we celebrate this wonderful season with various businesses, clubs and organizations that proudly fill the parade route to delight the judges, locals and our many visitors.
VIP Guests: Mr. & Mrs. Claus!
